Rina and Flo are the visionary duo behind SISTERWOULD, a brand born out of love, lived experience, and a deep frustration with the status quo. Both daughters of visually impaired mothers, they witnessed firsthand the everyday struggles their mums faced when it came to something as seemingly simple as beauty. What should have been a joyful, self-expressive experience was instead filled with barriers, and that didnât sit right with them.
Seeing a massive gap in the industry, Rina and Flo set out to change it. With a shared determination to pioneer a space that had long been overlooked, they created SISTERWOULD, a beauty brand where inclusivity isnât a feature, itâs the foundation.
But theyâre not just inclusivity pioneers. Theyâre beauty innovators. Every product in the SISTERWOULD range is designed with a sensory-enhanced experience, thoughtfully developed to engage more than just the eyes. From rich, intentional textures to signature scents to carefully curated colors, every detail was considered.
They partnered with Vision Australia to incorporate universal braille on all packaging. And when they realized not everyone reads braille, they went a step further and developed their own tactile imprinting system, making their products truly accessible to more people.
This level of thoughtfulness is more than innovation. Itâs heart. Itâs a commitment to their motto:

Rina and Flo believe beauty should be experienced, not just seen. Thatâs why SISTERWOULD isnât about creating products for the âabled-bodyâ standard. Itâs about reimagining the standard altogether. For them, beauty looks different, and so should the industry.

SISTERWOULD haircare exists to help everyone turn washing their hair into an enjoyable moment of selfcare. With a passion and drive for creating a beauty brand with purpose, Flo and Rina saw a gap in the market for an inclusive and accessible, scientifically formulated, haircare brand.

At a time when people were fed up with the stereotypes and typical representations of women in beauty, the two friends set the goal to break down the hierarchy of A-typical beauty and challenge the status quo. This drove the innovation behind their formulations, which ensures every hair concern (from dandruff to psoriasis) and type (thick to brittle) was catered to.

Even minority or often forgotten groups of women, such as those experiencing hair loss, alopecia or those undergoing chemotherapy have been considered. With visually impaired family members, they also discovered the daily plight and frustrations felt by this self-care routine.

Working with Vision Australia, they had Braille included on their packaging and a tactile imprinting system that consists of horizontal lines = for shampoo and dots ::: for conditioner. and placed an emphasis on the sensory experience, including tactile ingredients to help with the differentiation between products.

Our innovative shampoo offers a highly sensory experience with its unique tactile ingredients. Infused with biodegradable granular beads and Native Australian plant extracts, this multipurpose product functions both as a shampoo and a scalp scrub. The distinct granular texture not only provides exfoliation but also creates a sensory contrast for blind and visually impaired consumers, who can easily differentiate it from the luxurious, thick, and creamy texture of our conditioner.

The name SISTERWOULD represents the brand ethos, which centres around the founderâs approach to their friendship. Built on the sentiment that a sister doesn't need to be related by blood, but rather someone who provides unconditional love, support, guidance, and acceptance.
